Fun Day at QFe
We spent most of the day today helping—sort of —Kathy and the crew put on a Fun Day for about 50 of their program participants. It included football, cricket, goal ball, a mini dance marathon, and swimming. Lots of excited kids and adults as well as film crews from FIFA, the Qatar Foundation, and a freelance photographer from some news organization. It was a great event. The ability friendly program gets support from the Liverpool football club and the Paris Saint Germain club. We got to meet a lot of the parents whose children are involved in the programs. It is really amazing how important these recreational are in the lives of of the program participants and their parents. If you watched the opening ceremonies for the World Cup you probably noticed the young man who spoke with Morgan Freeman. This is Ghanim Al Muftah, who was one of the first participants in Kathy’s swimming program. He went on to become a scuba diver and is now at a university in Europe.

Kathy is doing such meaningful work! Love the photos!
